L.A. based photographer Evan Tetreault has acquired a big following on Instagram for his mesmerizing photography. We were lucky enough to convince him to contribute to our L.A. section of the magazine. Below are his awe-inspired words on one of his favorite neighborhoods in Los Angeles.

“I can’t say for sure what first drew me to Beachwood. It’s directly adjacent to the crowded blocks of Hollywood Boulevard, far from the ocean, and not very walkable. But as I drove away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood into the canyon, I was transported to a world I had never seen before: a world rich with charm, character, and exotic qualities. The contrast of the neighborhood’s unique landscape and eclectic architecture to the L.A. that I know is otherworldly. And it’s this otherworldliness that keeps pulling me back to walk the narrow roads, to absorb the peculiar beauty, with or without a camera.”
